Punta Lara
Punta Lara is one of the most popular urbanizations in Nerja and a fabulous place to stay at. Houses of Punta Lara are located on hills which furnishes them with unrestricted access to the sun on the terraces and also fabulous views over the sea, the town of Nerja and the mountains. Set in Nerja, Villa Mirador de Nerja is situated 500 Meter from the beach Playa el Vilches and 700 Meter from the beach Playa El Playazo.

Nerja
The coast from Nerja all the way to the east is called the Costa Tropical. That is not surprising because this part of the South Coast has its own tropical microclimate. Nerja, located on the western end of the Costa del Sol, has all the ingredients to charm any visitor. Its annual average temperature, around twenty degrees celsius, the beautiful mountain landscape of La Axarquía region, as well as a rugged coastline of beaches and cliffs, are just some of its attractions. The town of Nerja and its center is a 2-minute drive or a 10-minute walk from the Playa el Playazo offers everything that you might need. All kinds of services, broad offer of shops and restaurants, cultural events and international vibe. Balcón de Europa is one of it´s main tourist attractions. It’s a balcony with magnificent sea views that king Alfonso XII named that way because according to him you can see Africa from here. To the side of the balcony, you find two beaches, El Salón and La Calahonda. Nerja's Old Town is a charming area full of narrow, winding streets and traditional whitewashed houses, offering a quintessential Andalusian atmosphere. It's a lovely place to take a stroll, take in the sights, and immerse yourself in the local culture.
The beaches
Playa de Vilches and the Restinga Beach Restaurant are only a short distance away from the hills of Punta Lara. This beach invites visitors to admire its dark sand, swim in calm waters, and avoid crowds. Located about 10 minutes on foot or 4 minutes by car from Punta Lara you have the Playa el Playazo. This is Nerja’s longest beach. You can stroll along Playa el Playazo into town, stop at Chiringuito Mauri for paella, or relax at Las Palmeras Beach Club on hammocks or Balinese beds while enjoying the sound of the Mediterranean waves. The beach promenade begins right here, at the Playa el Chucho extending along the sea to Balcón de Europa. As you head toward town, you’ll pass Playa la Torrecilla, a long sandy beach with easy access to the shallow waters. In the middle of Nerja’s old town you find Playa el Salón, a fine sandy beach surrounded by high cliffs which creates a breathtaking setting. Located directly below Balcón de Europa you find Playa de Calahonda, this picture book beach still sees local fishermen casting their nets. You can also spot old fishing houses with white-washed walls and blue doors. Situated in the eastern part of Nerja you find Playa de Burriana, this beach is always bustling. The wide promenade offers various services and beachfront establishments. On an extensive sandy area of approximately 700 meters, there are various opportunities to rent sunbeds and all kinds of water sports equipment.
The surroundings
The town of Frigiliana with white houses and narrow streets nestled in the mountains is said to be one of the most beautiful villages in Andalucia, and in Spain, and is only 4 km from Nerja. The river walk at the Rio Chillar starts in Nerja in the parque natural de las Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama. On this hike you will walk up a river until you will find small waterfalls and ponds to swim in. When in Nerja you do not want to miss the The caves, Las Cuevas de Nerja, which are a series of caverns stretching for almost 5 kilometres with impressive stalagmites and stalactites and are easily reached by taking the Cave train that stops in four locations in Nerja. Only 45 minutes drive from Nerja while driving through hills covered with vines and beautiful mountain landscapes you arrive in Cómpeta, famous for its red churchtower, winding streets and cobble stone walls and it´s acclaimed wine. If you want to go on a daytrip you should definately consider going to Ronda. Set on a mountain plateau 750 meters above sea level Ronda is one of the oldest towns in Spain, perched precautionsly on the edge of a gorge surrounded by rolling hills, orange trees and olive groves. On your way to Ronda you can make a stop in Setenil de las Bodegas. The village is famous for the houses inside the caves, carved into the cliffs above the river. Another daytrip worth while is taking the Caminito del Rey route, it is spectacular from the beginning to the end, running through canyons and a large valley. The almost 8-kilometre path immerses you in walkways that wind between marches and cliffs, giving you breathtaking views of the majestic mountains of Malaga. Granada and the world known Alhambra Palace is only a good 50 minutes drive away. Just south of Granada and another 30 minutes further are the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is a surprisingly large resort with 23 lifts and 80 kilometers good skiing. From the top of the Veleta at 3 400 meters, you can on a clear day sea across the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlas mountains of Morocco.
